Seeing as though the above is just a recap of the last 12-18 months, it is clear to see that Nina Hastie is indeed changing the game, reinventing what the concept of being a ‘tri-factor’ threat really is, in fact, creating a whole new concept, which we’ll eagerly term: the ‘quadruple-factor’.
Nina Hastie has just now begun to unleash her fiery phoenix-like prowess, showing all (with panache and sheer finesse) what transformative powers tend to be when embracing the realness of one’s flaws, loving them and loving self inherently.
But, who was the Nina before the great 2016 shake-up in the world of Nina Hastie? Before there was 2016 and the explosion to follow, what were the dues paid and yards trekked that paved the (mosaic-inspired-cobbled meandering on all sides) pathway for our favourite feisty firebird comedian, Nina H herself?
From start to finish, Nina Hastie has branded herself a unique firestarter that is uncompromising in many faceted ways, with a smouldering burning passion for South Africa and what lies between.
Beginning with where it all started, born on the 19th of May 1983, Nina is the first to admit to her over-achiever tendencies.
At the tender age of 13, Nina landed herself the title of being the youngest radio host in the country. This began Nina’s illustrious voice over artist career, which is still a thing to this day. With over 15 years experience as a voice over artist, and with over 50 different brands that have her voice to thank for countless hours of marketing campaigns, Nina is surely a voice we South Africans have come to know and love.
Nina’s teen years were peppered with time spent in the entertainment industry as well, with boutYFM, to voicing multiple characters for feature-animation films and animated series, namely: ‘The Bushfire Fairytales’ and ‘The Adventures of Dick King’.
The year of 2009 saw Nina starring in a racy and provocative play about HIV at the NSA Festival of Fame, namely: ‘The Truth About You’
So successful did this particular play turn out to be, that it eventually became the skeleton script for the SABC1’s drama series, Intersexions.
Ever pushing the envelope and ever pursuing new challenges to master, this tireless comedian also had the honour of holding her own weekly column in the highest selling newspaper in Gauteng, The Times newspaper. Nina’s column was called: Oh The Agony!
As a corporate events host and an MC, Nina Hastie is no stranger either, in fact, quite the opposite.
Nina can easily be called a stalwart MC and corp host. She has had ample enough experience in this field, and with her list of conferences, corporate events, music festivals and random once-off gigs being as enormous and phenomenally extensive as it is, it is little wonder why the Nina Hastie Brand has such immense reach.
Nina Hastie, the karate world champion and youngest radio host in the country, at only 13 years of age, was then and is still now, 20 plus years later, on the fast track to being revered as the most hard-working, over-achieving, down-right intriguing South African female comedian that is even more so an entertainment industry stalwart in her own right, than most anything else.
Prone to persuasions of perfection (of craft) and posturing towards seemingly unattainable goals, to only but show that they can very well be attained – Nina Hastie has a tenacity that is quite unquenchable.
One thing, though, that must be said is that with Nina Hastie there is still one common thread.
Through all of Nina’s achievements, her mis-steps, her adventures and misadventures, there is one thing she keeps consistent.
And that is her unbreakable work ethic. It seems the sheer driving force that is Nina is undeniable indeed with a strong principle to follow through with determination, drive, grit, wit and oh-so-much sassy style.
Watch this space, Nina Hastie is set to brand a blazing fire, making all the world her stage, as she continues to set the world alight with her feisty self. Follow Nina on Twitter
